TRANSPORT The Gold Coast has a number of transport options, including train, bus and taxi. For students that who plan to drive to class, the IFC campus is easily accessible from the Pacific Highway and has ample off-street parking.
The closest train station is at Nerang. It is 10 minutes by taxi from the station to the College (approximately AUD$18.00 taxi fare), or 13 minutes by bus (AUD$1.20 student concession). The Southport bus (Route 20A - Surfside Buslines) departs Nerang Railway Station at 8.43am to arrive at the corner of Southport-Nerang Road and Ashmore Road at 8.56am. It is then a 1.5km walk to the College. A return bus departs from the corner of Southport-Nerang Road and Ashmore Road at 4.25pm (Route 20), arriving at the station at 4.48pm. For full train and bus timetable information, please visit the Translink website. Please note that the nearest identifiable landmark to IFC is Trinity Lutheran College. It is important to remember that students will be required to take equipment home on a regular basis to complete out-of-class assignments. Most equipment is too heavy or awkward to carry on buses and trains, therefore students will need to make alternative transport arrangements when hiring out College equipment. |
